While he had a "mountain" of decrees to sign, as he had promised in the first hours of his new term, Donald Trump "discovered" a letter left for him by Joe Biden in the Oval Office drawer.

He might never have even found it if one of the reporters hadn't asked him if he had read the note Joe Biden had left him.

However, Trump kept the envelope closed in front of the cameras and then showed reporters and his associates inside the Oval Office what was written in the outgoing president's note.

Trump described the letter as "a beautiful and inspiring letter" and he also said he appreciated the gesture.

However, for his part, Joe Biden refused to reveal what he had written, saying that "this remains between me and Trump."

He himself received a letter from Trump in 2021, which he described as "very generous."

BIDDEN'S LETTER TO TRUMP:

For the 47th President of the United States

Dear President Trump,

As I leave this sacred office, I wish you and your family the best for the next four years. The American people and the world look to the White House for stability in the inevitable storms of history, and it is my prayer that the years ahead will be a time of prosperity, peace, and joy for our nation.

May God bless and guide you as he has blessed and guided our beloved country since its founding.
