Russia's deputy ambassador to the UN has responded to Donald Trump's economic threats against Moscow.
Dmitry Polyansky said the Kremlin must first see what Trump's proposal will contain before deciding on it.
"It's not just about ending the war," he told Reuters. "It's first and foremost a matter of resolving the causes of the Ukrainian crisis," he added.
"We need to see what 'deal' means for Donald Trump. He is not responsible for what the US has done in Ukraine since 2014, making it anti-Russian and preparing them for war with us, but now he has a chance to stop this malicious policy," he concluded.
Recall that Donald Trump threatened Russia with imposing high taxes and tariffs and harsh sanctions if Vladimir Putin does not agree to quickly end the war in Ukraine.
