"Pandora's Box was opened with the takeover of Kosovo by Serbia."
This was stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić during an interview.
He continues to draw parallels with the case of Ukraine, accusing the international community of double standards.
According to him, Kosovo was taken by Serbia without a decision from the Security Council, while when it comes to Ukraine, something like this is opposed.
"Why did you take 14 percent of Serbia's territory, which was under the guarantee of the UN Charter and UN resolutions?
And this happened immediately after the aggression against the Republic of Serbia carried out by 19 NATO countries, without the permission of the UN Security Council….”
When interviewer Matthias Defner insisted that aggressor and victim should not be confused when mentioning Ukraine, Vučić retorted that Serbia had not committed aggression against any country when it was bombed.
"It was Serbian territory and, in accordance with our Constitution, it still is."
Vučić stressed that during a meeting with European leaders a few months ago, he had expressed disappointment with the fact that the authorities in Kosovo had not fulfilled the obligation to create an association of municipalities with a Serb majority, as part of the agreement signed in 2013.
He recalled that the EU was a signatory to the Brussels Agreement and claimed that Serbia had fulfilled its obligations under that agreement.
