The High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, said that Kosovo and Serbia have not reached an agreement on the issue of Serbian license plates and documents during the new round held on August 18.
However, he said that the parties have agreed to continue discussions in the coming days.
"We don't have an agreement today, but this is not the end of the story. Both leaders agreed that the process needs to continue and that discussions will resume in the coming days. There is still time until September. I don't give up," said Borrell.

Borrell said that today's meetings in Brussels between the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, with the mediation of the EU, were not "ordinary meetings", but "meetings for crisis management".
The discussions in Brussels come three weeks after tensions rose in northern Kosovo, as Serbs erected barricades on July 31 and August 1 to oppose the Kosovo government's decisions on Serbian license plates and documents.
Kurti and Vucic, with the mediation of Borrell and the EU's special envoy for dialogue, held two meetings on August 18. Likewise, before the first trilateral meeting and after it, the EU held separate meetings with the delegations of Kosovo and Serbia.
Neither Kurti nor Vucic have yet addressed the media about today's meetings in Brussels.
The President of Serbia, Vucic left the EU building without addressing the media, while the head of the Office of the Government of Serbia for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic, told reporters that Vucic will stay in Brussels for a while and that he will opens to the public on Friday, August 19.
"What is important is that we fought for peace, for stability, for compromise solutions," said Petkovic.
The United States envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, was also present in the EU building where the dialogue took place. The American side did not participate in the dialogue, but the USA fully supports the efforts of the EU in the process of normalizing relations between Serbia and Kosovo.
This was the third meeting between Kurti and Vučić in Brussels, as in June and July of 2021, the two meetings had ended without any result.
