The situation in Italy

Italy does not seem to be finding peace due to bad weather. This Monday, the red alert was sounded in Lombardy, while the orange alert was heard in 6 other regions. Yesterday evening a strong storm hit Liguria.

155 millimeters of water fell in Genoa. There was flooding all over the city from the Principe station to the central areas.

The heavy rain that fell in Milan caused some flooding, but no damage was reported. Authorities are monitoring the Seveso and Lambro rivers, which reached the first critical threshold. Landslides in Saint-Andrè en Savoie also cut rail lines with France.

The orange alert is in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Bolzano, Tuscany and Veneto. The warning is yellow in Abruzzo, Campania, part of Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Veneto and Piedmont, in Lazio, part of Molise, Province of Trento, but also in Sardinia, Umbria and Valle d'Aosta.

And while the north is drowning in rain, the south is burning. Trapani airport was closed for four hours yesterday due to the fires. In Scopello, again due to fires, 400 tourists were evacuated.
