Rama "brings" Kosovo to the conference with NATO leaders: We do not
Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama has again brought to attention the tense situation in the north of Kosovo during the joint press conference in the Netherlands with the leaders of several NATO member countries.

At the joint conference, where the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, the Prime Ministers of the Netherlands, Belgium and Norway, as well as the Presidents of Romania, Poland and Lithuania, spoke, Rama suggested to discuss the situation in the north of Kosovo.

During his speech, Prime Minister Rama said that "we hope that logic will prevail and the de-escalation will begin as soon as possible".

Rama added that "we do not want to see a break in the Western Balkans" as he said that "we want to see that the EU dialogue succeeds with the full support of NATO".

"It's inspiring to be part of NATO at this time and to see that the will to be with Ukraine until the end is unwavering and anyone who can bet on the odds NATO has lost and will lose until bottom.

I cannot confirm what was said about Ukraine and I want to use my time to add that we can also discuss the disturbing situation in the Western Balkans in northern Kosovo, where a few days ago KFOR soldiers were injured and we hope that logic prevail and de-escalation begin as soon as possible because any escalation could end disastrously and we do not want to see a break in our region which has done a lot of good work so far and we want to see that the dialogue of the EU succeeds and we will have the full support of NATO, which is responsible for the presence of KFOR, as a main presence for security", said Rama.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, with the aim of coordinating actions, co-organized a working dinner with this small group of leaders before the meeting of the North Atlantic Alliance in full format in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, on the 11 July 12.

Latvia and Lithuania called for a review of the Alliance's military troops along NATO's eastern borders with Russia, especially with their border enclave of Kaliningrad.
