The parents allegedly raped their 15-year-old daughter, claiming they wanted to teach her to have sex.

The mother and stepfather from Utah, USA thought that if the girl had sex with them it is safer than with a stranger.

The couple were caught by the police after the young girl contacted the police, telling them "her stepfather had been raping her for at least a year and a half". During an interview with officers, the pair, in their 30s, admitted to the heinous crimes, the statement said.

They added that they believed it would be " safer for him than having sex with strangers ".

According to the statement, her parents proposed the idea when she was 14 years old.

The girl told her mother that she wanted to meet someone and have sex. The mother found online chats and Snapchat photos of the girl in "sexual situations".

The parents bought sex toys for the girl and showed her how to use them.

According to foreign media, the mother declared to the police that the daughter only saw when they both had sex.

About two months ago, the teenager appears to have spoken to her mother about a damaged condom. When the mother of five confronted her husband, he denied having a "full relationship" with the teenager.

However, the stepfather is said to have confessed to the authorities that he had sexual activity with the 15-year-old. When doctors showed up at their home last week, the girl reported the abuse to authorities, citing that her mother was fully aware of it.

The parents were arrested by the Provo Police and charged with violent sodomy, rape with an object and forced sexual abuse. The stepfather faces an additional charge of rape.

They are being held in Utah County Jail without bail because of the "significant danger" they pose to their children./ DailyMail.co.uk
