Hoxha Vesim Avdiu addressed the public with a letter in which he clarified his truth, after marrying his second wife.
He says that he did not marry to spite anyone or to quench any passion or lust. But as he says "the marriage is completely for religious and humanitarian reasons, to shelter a girl who did not enjoy the best care for her health and education in her family".
"I remind my lovers that my religion and morals have not fallen, have not moved, I have not violated any of the principles of religion. Even know this: I did not marry to spite anyone, nor to quench any passion of mine. If it was the second marriage born of lust and passion, I would do it earlier and with some famous and prominent woman for human greed. Even for age, I would marry someone who has just turned 18.
Know, dear friends, that my marriage is entirely for religious and humanitarian motives, to shelter a girl who had not enjoyed the best care for her health and education in her family. Therefore, do not worry about my religion in this case, because I have not gone astray. I pray and you also pray for me for determination and stability in religion, until death", says Hoxha Avdiu.
Below is the full letter written by Hoxha Vesim Avdiu-Bujanoc:
My truth
Dear believers, my family and friends,
Those of you who have seen my name thrown around these days and are concerned about an event being reported in the media, I want to briefly inform you that I see that the way it is reported in the media tends to damage my image, and more so the image of the Islamic religion, which some try to present in a bad light.
I remind my lovers that my religion and morals have not fallen, have not moved, I have not violated any of the principles of religion.
I pray and you also pray for me for determination and stability in religion, until death.
From my duty as an imam, then as a teacher of the religious subject when I was, I had students of young ages as well as myself being younger and less experienced, but I never had any affair or pointing the finger at me . I have treated patients of different ages, characters, characteristics, traits, social positions, communities, etc. from the most diverse, but there has never been a single scandal with any patient, out of the thousands of people who have visited me. There have never been any complaints against me, neither by family members nor by those who came for treatment, absolutely by no one!
I lecture about Islam and from what I speak, I always advise myself first, then others. I did not have religion as an occasional profession, but from the love cultivated for Islam by my fathers, I became a priest and a teacher and preacher of the religion. This is my faith and my character, unchanged until now. I made the marriage in accordance with the rules of the religion, obtaining the consent of the girl's father, who agreed to give me his daughter's hand in marriage, but after a few weeks he regretted it, after we tied the knot.
In the reactions of the group that is working against me these days, it seems clear that there are other tendencies, probably pushed from outside the village and for anti-religious and anti-national interests. It is clear that their request is to remove me from the mosque, not to stop the girl. Imagine that intellectual people, at this time, have the courage to interfere in the decisions of a 24-year-old girl, thus violating religious, legal, family, faith and canonical principles. Who gave them that right, when they are not even the girl's relatives?
My marriage, my private life and the things that are not public belong to me and I keep them to myself. I do not allow others to rise on my back, unfairly. I will defend my right with every legal means I can possess and the wrongdoers will be unmasked.
The tendencies to make noise come only when the hoxhallars or believers are in question, with their intention to tarnish us and the religion accordingly. I know that before Allah I am clean, and all this has happened with the approval of my religion, my daughter's family and my family.
So please calm down and leave us alone too!
With respect,
Vesim Avdiu
