Clashes in the Kosovo Parliament, Hamza attacks Kurti: He is holding the state

The Democratic Party and Alliance MPs entered the parliament today, where they demanded the resumption of the constitutive session as soon as possible. They took their seats and the PDK leader, Bedri Hamza, issued strong accusations towards the chair of the session, Avni Dehari, as well as the leader of Vetëvendosje.

"Albin Kurti is holding the state of Kosovo hostage. Without restoring constitutional order, we cannot talk about anything else," he said on the podium.

The harshest in his words was the Alliance MP, Burim Ramadani, who accused Kurti of endangering national security.

"The institutional vacuum is the basis for endangering national security. Why are these people fleeing? Why do they aim to block institutions and the state?", asked the Alliance MP.

The acting Prime Minister commented on recent developments and the calls of the PDK, LDK and Alliance parties, reiterating his position that an agreement appears to be reached for the president and then the session should be called to resume.

"The position of Vetëvendosje as the winner of the elections is that the next president should be consensual with the broadest possible support in the Assembly and among the people, be a personality who has merit and contribution, national and civic values, but also proven in the profession and society, and for this we want to reach an agreement in order to avoid new elections," Kurti said.

However, this response further irritated the PDK leader, who issued this statement in the assembly lobby.
