Russian General Sergei Surovikin, who is allied to The Watchner chief Evgeny Prigozhin, has been dismissed from his post and given house arrest.

Western media reported on Friday that Surovikin is "under house arrest" and cannot leave the residence, but others may visit him.

Several russian military blogs have also reported the news, although there is no official confirmation.

Surovikin, known as "General Armageddon" for his aggressive military strategies in Chechnya and Syria causing large numbers of civilian casualties, has not been seen in public since "Walker" attempted to march on Moscow in June.

Surovikin is accused of using sarin gas, phosphorus and explosive ammunition, three weapons banned by international conventions.
