Strange news comes from Sudan to Africa, where a sheep has been found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison for killing a woman.

According to Sudanese Eye Radio media , earlier this month, police in South Sudan arrested a sheep after attacking a 45-year-old woman named Adhieu Chaping. It is reported that the sheep repeatedly hit Chaping in the head and broke his ribs. The woman unfortunately did not survive the injuries and died.

The police chief made a statement to the local news station and said: “The sheep attacked by hitting her with the ribs and the elderly woman died immediately. The sheep was caught and is currently in custody at a police station. "

Mayor Mabor also explained that the animal has been found guilty and convicted of the crime instead of its owner, who is said to be next door to the victim. He said: "The owner is innocent and the sheep is the one who committed the crime, so he deserves to be arrested and then the case will go to the ordinary court where the case can be handled amicably."

Once found guilty, the sheep will spend the next three years in prison, most notably a military camp at Aduel County headquarters in the Sudan Lakes state. Moreover, the local court is also said to have ruled that the sheep owner should now pay the victim's family five cows as compensation.

It is also reported that the sheep owner will most likely lose sheep ownership at the end of the sentence, as the apparent customary law in the region states that any pets that kill a person are then given as compensation to the victim's family.
