Paris adds calls to Skopje for accepting its proposal for resolving disputes with Bulgaria. This time it was the President Emmanuel Macron himself, who with an open letter guarantees respect for Skopje's red lines.

"North Macedonia is once again facing a key moment in its history and 17 years after receiving the candidate status, the historic opportunity is just opening, which is the entry into the active phase of the process for membership in the European Union and the choice is yours", it is stated in the order of the president of France, Emmanuel Macron for Skopje.

The head of Eliza appreciates the past compromises signed by North Macedonia and says that the time has come again to change the course of history.

"I will not tell you that this agreement is perfect, but it will open your European way. Like any agreement, this one is based on compromises and balance. This agreement does not call into question the official existence of the Macedonian language, which is an integral part of your identity," Macron said.

Macron confirms that his proposal includes the Neighborhood Agreement with Bulgaria of 2017 and guarantees for its proper implementation. The president announced that his plan includes the point that the opposition in Skopje opposes.

"Finally, it is about revising the Constitution, with the aim of integrating new communities into it. Your country already represents an example of coexistence in Europe. It remains for the Macedonian Assembly to decide", adds the French president.

At the end of the open letter, Macron writes that the time has come for everyone to act, with responsibility and full assessment of the weight and consequences of their actions, while he expresses his conviction that the decision of Skopje will be for the continuation of the journey to the family European.
