"On Saturday, I took an X-ray in the emergency room, I had a stroke, but everything went well." These are the first words of Mattia Aguzzi, the 37-year-old who on Saturday morning managed to save a little girl as she fell from the fifth floor of a building in via Nizza, in Turin.

While speaking for a morning show, the 37-year-old tells how he found himself saving the 3-year-old's life.

"I was going with my girlfriend Gloria to get bread, on the road we heard screams: I turned and on the other side of the road there was a boy screaming. He asked the girl not to move, then turned to us telling us that the girl was about to fall. It was a matter of seconds: I just hoped to follow the trajectory and soften the contact with the ground, since the capture from that height was impossible."

However, Aguzzi managed to catch the little girl.

"Incredibly, I succeeded, he added, I did not know that I had this ability to judge the situation properly. I held him to my chest and immediately we both fell to the ground. The impact was quite strong, we are talking about a flight of 15-18 meters: the impact took my breath away".

After a few seconds of terror, the 37-year-old says he became aware that he had saved a life.

"The little girl didn't react at first, I was afraid for the worst. After a few seconds, we heard her crying and realized that the worst was over."

The little girl has already been hospitalized for observation at the pediatric surgery department of the Regina Margherita hospital in Turin.

She has no visible injuries and is in good condition. If nothing unexpected happens, the girl will be released from the hospital in the next few hours.
