Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned today's decision by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague to issue an arrest warrant against him on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the war against the Palestinian organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
"Israel rejects the absurd and false actions with disgust," Netanyahu said, claiming Israel is waging a war in Gaza, AP reports.
In addition to Netanyahu, arrest warrants have also been issued for former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant and one of the leaders of Hamas, Muhammad Deif.
Netanyahu and other Israeli politicians called the arrest warrant shameful and anti-Semitic.
US President Joseph Biden condemned the ICC prosecutor's decision and supported Israel's right to defend itself against Hamas. Hamas also condemned the arrest warrant.
