The police find weapons and military uniforms in the north of Kosovo

Kosovo police said they found weapons, uniforms and other military equipment during an operation in a village in the municipality of Zubin Potok, in the north of Kosovo.

According to the announcement, the Police was looking for a suspect, identified by the initials SM, who is wanted in connection with a drug laboratory found in the village of Qukiq a few years ago, when weapons were found in the location where he was suspected to be.

"The suspect was not found in the location where he was suspected to be, but in his property, namely on the mountain, in a place covered with uniforms and other military equipment," the announcement said.

The police said that during the search, other military equipment was also found buried in three other places.

Police said they found military uniforms, parts of long rifles, tactical vests, gas masks, a pistol barrel, a pair of handcuffs and 1,471 different calibers.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xelal Sveçla, said that the weapons that are being found in the north "are not just remnants of criminal and terrorist gangs, but also weapons shelters for their dark plans".

"As the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, together with the Police of Kosovo and all other institutions, we are clearly determined that the legal and constitutional order, sovereignty and integrity, order and law, freedom, equality and justice will prevail throughout our state," he wrote. on Facebook.
In September last year, in Banjska of Zveçan, a group of armed Serbs attacked the Kosovo Police, killing Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku. During the exchange of fire, three Serbian attackers were also killed.
