The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama , has addressed the Summit in Kiev, where EU leaders gathered to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the start of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, with a video greeting.

As foreign media reports, Rama stated that the diplomatic landscape for Ukraine has changed radically, given Donald Trump's dialogue with Russia, and urged Western leaders not to ignore this fact.

Prime Minister Rama said that the leaders seemed to be continuing as if nothing had happened, when in fact, with the new White House, everything was different.

"I think something important has happened, as you all know, and the question is how Ukraine will be supported efficiently and how Europe as a continent can be efficient in defending itself and to get the best out of something that is happening, a negotiation between Russia and the United States," Rama said, according to Sky News.

"I'm not sure that just by talking about increasing military support and increasing military spending, we understand the whole issue. That's my humble opinion. Maybe I'm wrong," he said.

Rama also mentioned the fact that Washington and Moscow have begun talks to reach an agreement and the potential for Ukraine to be cut off from the talks and have an unfair outcome imposed on it.

"We have been on American autopilot for a long time. Now the autopilot seems to be off. No one knows for how long. It is time for a deeper reflection on what we will do in terms of military support or military spending. Of course it is very necessary, but it may not be enough," Rama said.

He reiterated that Albania fully stood by Ukraine and its allies, while emphasizing that he had doubts about the fact that the summit was only addressing half of the problem, the military side, and not the new political and diplomatic reality.
