The most expensive house in London and one of the most expensive in the world has gone up for sale. It is located in the Knightsbridge area in the center of the British capital, which belongs to Hu Ka Yan's family.
The Chinese billionaire, for those who don't know, owns the real estate giant – the second largest construction company in the Asian country – China Evergrande Group.
The historic mansion, measuring 5,600 square meters, was built in the mid-19th century. Although at first there were four different buildings, later it was decided to unite them and turn them into a single palace.
In the 80s, the iconic building underwent an extensive and total makeover, with very impressive results. Inside, tenants have a swimming pool, underground parking, several elevators and gold leaf walls. Meanwhile, "various languages" claim that all windows are bulletproof.

The sale at 2–8a Rutland Gate comes just three years after the luxury residence fell into the hands of Hui Kan Yan, who bought the property in April 2020 for £210 million ($232 million).
The 45-room house, according to British government records, is currently owned by an offshore company called Vision Perfect Global Limited, based in the Virgin Islands, which is linked to the Chinese tycoon.
Hui, who is currently worth $8.2 billion, is said to be selling the luxury mansion amid the collapse of China's real estate market, which has pushed both Evergrande and other construction companies to the brink of bankruptcy.

It is no coincidence that at the end of 2019, Hui's fortune exceeded 30 billion dollars. However, Evergrande's failure to repay a $300 billion loan led to a collapse in the stock and, as a result, the fortune of the Chinese.
It is for this reason that Hui has recently been forced to sell a number of assets – even works of art – to pay off his company's debts. Moreover, unlike other Chinese real estate companies, Evergrande refused to be bailed out with state aid.
