Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Tuesday that former German Chancellor Angela Merkel could prevent Russia's war in Ukraine if she were still in office.
In an event held in Berlin, Orban said that Merkel prevented a war in 2014, after Moscow's decision to annex the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea.
"What Angela Merkel has done after the crisis related to Crimea was fantastic," he said.
Orban, a right-wing politician who has many critics in the left-wing German government, met with Merkel on Sunday as part of his visit to Berlin.
During Tuesday's event, Orban said that US President Joe Biden is not the right person to end the war in Ukraine.
According to him, an agreement between the United States and Russia is currently necessary.
However, according to him, Biden has criticized the Russian president, Vladimir Putin a lot.
