Athens goes against Donald Trump - Greece refuses to participate in war: We will

Greece will not participate in any military operation near Iran, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis declared on Tuesday.

At an event in Athens, he made it clear that his country would not be involved in the conflict in the Middle East, despite US calls for support in securing the Strait of Hormuz.

"The simple answer is no, Greece will not participate in any operation in the combat zone," Mitsotakis said, adding that he does not see any willingness from other European countries for such a commitment either.

According to him, Europe should focus on the economic consequences of the war, such as rising energy prices, and not on military involvement.
