Ankara: US-Iran negotiations have begun, messages are being conveyed through
Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan

Turkey is remaining active in efforts to prevent further escalation of conflict in the Middle East. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced on Friday that messages and information about the negotiations are also being transmitted to Iran, in coordination with the US and other countries, such as Pakistan.

He added that the negotiations have reached a stage where it is important not to interrupt the dialogue and maintain trust between the parties.

“Now, the negotiations have reached a certain stage. That is, at least the negotiations have started, a message is being conveyed through Pakistan. The Americans are coordinating this with us and we are talking to them. We are also informing the Iranians about this. Today, we had long meetings with both. We are trying to understand more easily where the parties stand, what they expect and we are trying to give appropriate messages. However, without going into details, I can say that the current negotiating positions are inevitably different from the pre-war negotiating positions of both parties. Especially the Iranian position will be very different; because before the war, Iran was entering the negotiations precisely to prevent this situation from happening. Now, the war has reached a certain point and there has been a certain amount of destruction in Iran. Now, what is required from the negotiations will certainly be different. This situation makes the job of the mediators a little more difficult. But we hope that we will continue to work without losing hope," said the Turkish foreign minister.

He also gave a message to both countries: If there is true will, the parties can find a meeting point.

Fidan also stressed that Turkey's main goal remains to stop the war and prevent its spread to other countries, avoiding the creation of permanent hostilities and regional instability.

"Everything is being done to prevent the consequences of the conflict and protect regional stability ," he said.

Turkey is working closely with Pakistan, European partners and others to coordinate messages and ensure that negotiations continue without interruption. Fidan also warned Islamic countries not to fall into "Israel's game" and provoke new regional divisions.
