Iran has announced that it will ease restrictive measures in the Strait of Hormuz, allowing the passage of humanitarian and agricultural aid through this strategic waterway.

Iran's ambassador to the UN, Ali Bahreini, stated that Tehran has accepted the organization's request to guarantee the safe passage of humanitarian shipments.

According to him, this measure aims to accelerate and facilitate the distribution of aid to populations in need, reflecting Iran's commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts.

Meanwhile, the UN has announced that it is working to create a working group that will design a mechanism to ensure the continuity of trade in this key area.

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric stressed that immediate intervention is necessary to mitigate the global consequences of the crisis.

The Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas supplies pass, had been effectively blocked by Iran since the start of the conflict, causing supply disruptions and rising prices on international markets.
