Ukrainian Ambassador to the US, Oksana Markarova, looked very distressed in the Oval Office during the argument between Trump and Zelensky.

Harsh exchanges between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky led to the cancellation of a joint press conference between the two leaders and the withdrawal of a draft agreement on minerals that the parties had agreed to a few days earlier.

Zelensky left the White House after a heated debate, in which President Trump accused the Ukrainian president of disrespecting the United States, while the latter challenged the American leader to soften his stance towards Russian President Putin.

After the meeting, in a post on social media, President Trump wrote that "I have concluded that President Zelensky is not ready for peace if America is involved, because he thinks our involvement gives him a greater advantage in the negotiations. I do not want advantages, I want peace. He insulted the United States in the Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for peace," President Trump wrote.
