Ilir Meta tried and so far succeeded in hiding his dark past as a security spy from the Albanians. He did this by all means and intentions.

When he was leading Albania as Prime Minister, it is suspected that he ordered the destruction of the file. Foreseeing that some copy of it might have escaped, he provided the figure with a certificate of purity from the 'Bezhani' commission, and with this certificate in hand, he circulated for years in the corridors of the Assembly, the Prime Minister's Office and finally the Presidency.

In addition to the purity he provided in the papers, he also bought the silence of the person who had been the victim of his espionage, Philip Talos. According to the data from Taxes, Filip Talo has been employed as the Chairman of Bid Evaluation in the Directorate of Metrology, which deals with the control of oil and its by-products. Talo was hired when LSI official Gledion Rahovica was director and Nasip Naço and Edmond Haxhinasto were line ministers.

The employment of Filip Talos in this institution is also clarified by a report of the High State Control, published in 2013 and which found Ilir Meta's roommate in violation.

This means that Ilir Meta has tried in these 3 decades to keep hidden one of the darkest periods of his life, as an accomplice of the State Security by buying and luring the main witness. He manipulated the main witness, buying him with a job, and Filip Talo can come out and publicly declare that he is not part of the file, or that he did not spy on Ilir Meta. Legally, this has no effect.

The first because in the register of civil status only one person has the name Filip Talo and the same year of birth as Ilir Meta and the second, because Ilir Meta's file was not made by Filip Talo, but by the State Security and it is written there black on white that 'Ilir Rexhep Metaj' is our collaborator.

Pas këtij rrëfimi mes miqsh, plani i Filip Talos dekonspirohet dhe ai thirret i pandehur. Sipas dosjes së sigurimit, prej 140 faqesh, Filip Talo merret në pyetje për arsyet e arratisjes jashtë vendit. Pjesë e dosjes është edhe Ilir Metaj, i cili jo vetëm ka qenë burimi kryesor i informacionit të Sigurimit të Shtetit, por edhe e ka përgjuar shokun e vet me aparatura.
