Arben Kraja does not see the 'beam in front of his nose', hits the
Head of SPAK, Arben Kraja

Corruption and organized crime have neither color nor political direction. But, under the leadership of Arben Kraja, some actions of SPAK have questioned even the statements of the head of the Special Prosecutor's Office, who often repeats that he is "investigating from all sides".

There are dozens of reports submitted to the SPAK led by Arben Kraja against Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi, from those for massive corruption, concealment of assets and lobbying with dirty money in the USA, to the aesthetic interventions of Monika Kryemadhi, or the benefits illegitimate of her brother, Drini in the concession of approvals.

Despite this, the head of SPAK has remained silent and publicly avoided not only comments, but also any data on whether or not these denunciations are being investigated. If so, at what stage are they and if not, why are they not being investigated. Not only that, but a series of investigations and convictions of the Prosecutor's Office led by Kraja 'happen' to be enemies of Ilir Meta.

The last example is the pediatrician, among the best in the country, Aurel Vula. Vula has appeared in SPAK interceptions related to the operation in Italy and Albania for fraud and corruption in the health system of the country across the Adriatic.

He says that it has nothing to do with what has been said to him in the media about the matter in question. Vula declares that his trips to Italy were incidental to his health, related to endangering the lives of his wife's parents, and his mother-in-law who passed away.

He emphasizes that as a pediatrician he has not issued any certificate or epicrisis for patients suggested for hospitalization in Italy and no document of any kind, as accused by Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi, that could have facilitated the procedures for the passage of Albanian citizens during during the pandemic in Italy.

Another "enemy" of Meta who ended up in SPAK is the former director of RTS, Thoma Gëllçi. The latter was quickly investigated and sentenced to prison for a tender that, according to his lawyer, saved Albanians 60 million lek.

There are doubts that even the energetic and sudden investment of SPAK in this case was "inspired" by the Presidency, since the tender was not awarded to a company that Meta had requested. In a television interview, the lawyer of Thoma Gëllçi, Dorian Matlija, says that the former director of RTSH has saved the taxpayers about 60 million lek with the decision to extend the contract, as otherwise he risked penalties.

Other SPAK investigations are related to Lefter Koka and Alqi Bllakon, both former close associates of Ilir Meta, but the former went with the socialists in the 2017 elections and LSI's Meta lost the key man of the campaign in Durrës. while the second spent with the SP after the period as a councilor of Meta. In both cases, Meta appears to have used SPAK to retaliate.

These are the issues for which the 'enemies' of Ilir Meta are being investigated by Arben Kraja, who in this case sees the hair on the other's face, but not the beam in front of his own nose. Ilir Meta is accused of thousands of dollars in lobbying money in the USA, which have not been declared to the Albanian institutions.

In just one case, through the shell company Dorelita Limited, the figure spent on lobbying is 750 thousand dollars. In addition, there are files closed by procedure or haste, one of which is CEZ-DIA, in the middle of which there are millions of dollars.

The accusations against Meta are also added to those against Monika Kryemadhi. The latter has admitted herself that she was a patient in a clinic in San Marino for a health problem. However, the media have reported that the real purpose of Kryemadhi's visits to this clinic were aesthetic, and the journalist Adriatik Doçi writes about figures spent up to 1 billion ALL.

Even Kryemadhi has not declared these expenses in the ILDKPI, unlike what is required by the law on the declaration of wealth and the prevention of conflict of interest.

Kraja is not expected to give up his services to Ilir Meta, even though he is at the end of his 3-year term.
