Note: The guerrilla war of The Oblast within the Democratic Party against Sali Berisha has taken on grotesque proportions. This time, with MPs legally and formally called the Democratic Party, but who have long been in the party's headquarters, Basha has been recasting decommunistisation for consumption.
Through Enkelejd Alibeaj, initiatives were deposited in the Assembly on behalf of the PD, which in the media was sold as new, but which is at least 4-years-old. Decommunistisation was first proposed by The Basha in 2018.
At that time the package was proposed as a means to cause noise and remove attention from the deep defeat in the 2017 elections. The same proposal was returned for circulation in 2021, this time before and after the elections, where Basha again emerged as the loser.
Basha and Alibeaj describe the decommunistisation of society as a mission of the Democratic Party. But what's in it? The 12-page document has as its main point the lawful prohibition of the Communist Party of Albania. Some of his main points were:
• By law will be banned any communist symbol, such as the flag of the Communist Party of Albania, with five corner stars, sickle and czech, portraits of dictator Enver Hoxha, as well as any other portrait related to the past of dictatorship.
• Every image, a slogan related to communist dictatorship, is prohibited by law.
• The names of roads, cities, schools, companies, names or pseudonyms, of persons related to dictatorship will be reviewed.
• Banned by law the Communist Party of Albania.
• All intellectual, or artistic works, which have communist propaganda, will be banned, one of which will be films shown during the period of hoxhist dictatorship.
• All decorations, titles, taken during the time of dictatorship will be abolished.
So, three decades after the fall of the regime, the Democratic Party, which has been in power almost half this time, seeks to "decommunistize" Albanian society. But, with the document's predictions, more than decommunistization is about history deletion.
However, more than the initiative aimed at hitting Eddie Rama, the 'guerrilla' movement of The Oblast targets Sali Berisha. The latter in 13 years in power with the PD has not spoken of any case for decommunistization, while the former persecuted has lied to them and kept them for the electorate.
Ironic is the fact that the very form of war chosen by Basha, so that guerrilla is itself a communist.
