Meta's Berisha prepares election boycott if banned by running law
Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha

Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta in the 24-hour time frame both spoke together for the coalition. The former expressed willingness to cooperate with the Freedom Party, the second accepted the public invitation and praised the 'primaries'.

Even in this part, Ilir Meta went beyond proposing that the primaries be held for joint coalition candidates and not both separate parties, the PD and pl.

But this is the façade, so what needs to be said and albanians need to hear. The truth is that the two are moving towards the boycott and as the protests have warned.

Both have blamed The Oblast for boycotting territorial reform, boycotting six justice reform laws, boycotting and burning mandates in parliament and boycotting the 2019 local elections.

Criticising Basha who both have declared on more than one occasion that the boycott will never be repeated again and that the opposition, which they call true, will face everywhere and in every democratic way what they call the 'Regime of Eddie Rama'.

But the manner of the showdown may not be as democratic and the Berisha-Meta duo return to the boycott of The Oblast. The reason they will use is the ban on running for election, which the Socialists are expected to adopt in the Assembly starting in September.

The SP has nearly drafted that personally excludes them from running through changes to the decriminalisation law, where Meta is intended to be left out as a 'State Security associate' and Berisha as declared 'non grata' by the US and Great Britain.

If the Socialists adopt this initiative, Berisha and Meta are expected to tighten attitudes towards the government. Turnout in next year's local elections would be called into question. However, given that their battle Berisha and Meta have with central power, it is not ruled out the possibility that in these elections they will participate, in an effort to be factored in and ensure personal participation in parliamentary elections.

This election is in 2025, if there is no early election. The time of 3 years available gives the opposition duo the opportunity to prepare the strategy and manipulate the public for the real reasons of the boycott of the elections... And the manipulation has started now.
