Montenegro has the lowest price of fuels among the region's countries, however the government in Podgorica has imposed the reduction of even 10 cents, or about 10 new leks of oil litre.

According to the decision, oil will cost 1.39 euros per letter, or about 160 lek. Lowering the price, in addition to linking prices to international markets, where an oil barrel is fluctuating around $90 even after the decision by Saudi Arabia's company, Aramco to increase production, is also a consequence of montenegrin government policies, which has also reduced taxes.

Of the reductions, it is the reduction of excise by 50 percent, which in the market translates to lowering the litre of oil by about 10 cents. Put simply, after this decision in Montenegro the price of oil will decrease from 170 lek to 160 lek.

What happens in Albania? One hectare of oil in Albania is 30 to 35 percent more expensive than in Montenegro, or about 60 lek more and this thanks to the decisions of the Board of Ceti.

Established for the protection of citizens' pockets, the Board is fattening the accounts of oligarchs, Chiefs Castrati and Paulin Gega. Why? The answer is simple. Two weeks ago, the price of oil in international markets fell for the first time down from the level it was before the start of the war in Ukraine.

A barrel sold for $90 to $94. But it took the Awards Board a few days to learn this news, and after learning it was collected and lowered oil by 1 lek, in a decision that could be considered the biggest mockery since the founding of this board.

The ridiculous price reduction followed criticism and irony from citizens. The board responded after three days, this time lowering the price of a litre of oil by 4 lek.

So within five days, the Board lowered the price of oil by 5 lek in total, although in stock exchanges prices had fallen below the level that was before the start of the war in Ukraine.

The announcement that Ukraine had closed the oil pipeline towards Central Europe produced the opposite effect on stock exchanges, where the price of oil rose again slightly.

The sensitive board gathered within 24 hours and quickly decided to increase the price by five leks. All the Activity of the Board, which took five days to sit with 5 lek of oil, but only a few hours to increase it reinforces the conviction of many citizens that this board is serving oil oligarchs.
