Details: What happened at Kuçova Air Base, where a soldier shot himself

The Ministry of Defense has provided details of the serious incident at the Kuçova Air Base, where a soldier self-injured.

According to the report, the soldier self-injured in the shoulder.

His life is out of danger and has been transported to Tirana, while investigations into this incident have begun.

The Ministry of Defense informs that, on November 3, 2026, at around 16:46, while performing his duty at the Kuçova Air Base, ED officer was wounded in the shoulder with his service weapon.

Immediately after the incident, the officer was given first aid and transported to the Berat Regional Hospital.

According to the doctors' assessment, his vital parameters are within normal limits and his life is out of danger.

The officer has been taken to the University Trauma Hospital in Tirana to continue specialized medical treatment.

The Military Police is at the scene and is following procedures to document and fully clarify the causes and circumstances of the incident.

The Ministry of Defense is closely monitoring the situation and health condition of the serviceman, who it wishes a speedy recovery.
