All road concessions to be financed from the state budget

The draft budget of 2024 has been put on the ground for promotion by the Prime Minister of the country, Edi Rama. Yesterday, the first presentation was in the city of Fier, this citizen talks about salary increases, economic growth, welfare growth, support for the needy, etc.. But the other side of the coin is maintenance costs or the continuation of concessionary works.

A part of the draft budget talks about road transport and who will be the concession contracts that will continue to be fully supported by the state budget. For the next three years, the concession contracts that will be supported with funds from the state budget are:

Concession contract for the construction of Arbri Street;

The Concession Contract for the construction of the Milot - Morin Road;

The Concession Contract for the construction of the Orikum - Dukat Road, By Pass-Yacht Port;

The funds planned in 2024 for the improvement, construction, operation and maintenance of Arbri Street are calculated at 3.5 billion ALL.

For the construction, improvement, utilization and maintenance of the Milot-Morina Highway, 738 million ALL are planned in 2024.

For the design, construction and maintenance of the Porti i Yahteve-Bypass Orikum-Dukat (Shën Liza Bridge) 967 million ALL are planned.

The main projects for the medium term are:

Construction of the Llogara Tunnel;

Sea Port of Durrës "Porto Romano"

Tirana-Rinas Railway and Tirana-Durrës Line;

Expansion of the Elbasan-Qafë Thane axis;

3532 km of roads maintained according to standards in the years 2024-2026 throughout the territory;

The largest part of the payments will be received by the Arbri Street Construction and Operation concession with over ALL 3.5 billion.

But the storm Ciaran, which also affected our country, highlighted the problems in these roads that are still under construction and financed by the budget. This means that more funding will be needed from the budget even though there is an item that includes emergency situations.
