The Tax Administration has announced the launch of preparations for the implementation of the new annual income declaration, DIVA 2025, which will enter into force for income earned during 2025 and will be submitted at the beginning of 2026.

The changes provided for by the new law "On Income Tax" bring as a novelty the compensation of 48 thousand lek for each child under 18. So, regardless of the level of income, the taxpayer is entitled to compensation of 48 thousand lek per year for the educational expenses of children under the age of 18.

The estimated value of the compensation of 48 thousand lek for each child under 18 years of age, for the state budget, reaches 20 million euros according to the tax administration.

The new Law "On Income Tax" also includes a deduction for education expenses of up to 100 thousand lek per year for individuals with incomes of less than 1.2 million lek.

The benefit of child compensation and education expenses will be made only through the annual DIVA 2025 declaration. In a family or couple, the declaration of these benefits will be made by the individual with the highest income, to avoid double benefit.

To be valid, deductions must be based on official documentation. Dependent children must appear on the taxpayer's personal certificate, while education expenses must be documented with regular invoices from licensed educational institutions./ Monitor
