The completion of the second lot of the road axis Korçë - Erseke will require an additional 520 million ALL. The financing will start in 2024, where the value of 104 million ALL is foreseen in the draft budget, as the addition came after the modification of the initial contract, which has a value of 2.6 billion ALL. However, this amount is only half the cost for this lot of road, as it is being built through 2 contracts. The contract for the first part of this segment has a value of 2.82 billion ALL. This means that in total, together with the addition of the contract, the cost for the construction of lot II of the road axis Korçë - Erseke reaches 6 billion ALL.

According to data from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, currently the road axis Korçë - Erseke has a length of 45 kilometers, while with the completion of the new segment the distance will be shortened to 35 kilometers. The works on this axis have been delayed for years, since the implementation of the project started as early as 2013, while in September 2018, the works were completed on a length of 17.6 km that included only the first lot.

While, currently, the works have advanced only in lot 2, while for lot 3 the tendering procedures have not started yet. The Korçë-Ersekë road is a key axis in the south-eastern region, while the project envisages changes to the current road, avoiding some of the segments, which in winter present problems due to frost and snow.
