KESH other energy sales, 2.8 million euros are collected, export income reaches

In addition to the problems caused with the electrical network, or the circulation of vehicles in some areas, the rains of the last few days have had positive effects for the Albanian Electricity Corporation, which has carried out several energy sales procedures, due to the improvement of the water situation in the Cascade of the river Drin.

Only in the last procedure, the Corporation sold 25,800 mWh of energy, in 2 separate lots, as referring to the sale price, it turns out that 2.8 million euros were collected. This amount is added to the income provided by the export of energy throughout this year, which according to the calculations of TV SCAN amounts to 52.3 million euros.

Most of them were collected in the first 6 months of this year, with 41.5 million euros. Meanwhile, according to the data published by KESH, only with the tenders for the sale of energy for the month of November, KESH generated income in the amount of 10.8 million euros.

Meanwhile, the situation is different for the Free Market Supplier, which is part of the OSHEE Group, which for 2023 did not carry out energy sales procedures, which means that there were no surpluses after meeting consumer needs.

Referring to the legislation in force, the public supply company in the free market has the obligation to purchase electricity from renewable energy sources. Initially, this energy is traded to cover the losses of the Distribution System Operator at the same price at which it buys this energy from priority electricity producers. Meanwhile, in case of created surpluses, they are traded in the unregulated market at the price offered by this market.
