Angela Paparizo

Anxhela Paparizo will be appointed General Director of the Agency for Local Self-Government Support (AMVV).

As Top Channel journalist Alma Demiraj reports, Paparizo comes to this position after more than 20 years of experience in local administration, both in Albania and Canada. During her career, she has held leadership roles in local administration, including the Municipality of Tirana and that of Burlington, Ontario.

Until the middle of this year, she held the role of director of the QSUT. Paparizo has also been awarded the "Elite of Albanian Women in the World" award. She succeeds Stiljan Llavdaniti in this position, who has served as the acting Director General of the AMVV.

The Agency for Support of Local Self-Government is the institution that supports the decentralization process and the functioning of local self-government units, in accordance with the policies and legal framework in force.

With the appointment of Paparizos, the leadership of the AMVV is now moving into a new mandate, while it is expected that her priorities in leading the institution will be made public this morning.
