How does the "Berlin process" differ from the "Open Balkans"? Why do the Germans say "Berlin Process" and not "Open Balkans"? Why are we so obsessed with this phrase? Why is Kosovo against? Why does the Prime Minister of Albania meet the President of Serbia more often than the President of Kosovo? Is the "Open Balkans" more Europe in the region or a return to the old Serbian thesis: "The Balkans, the Balkans?" Why does Lavrov support the "Open Balkans"? (S) Does the US support the Open Balkans? Is it true that Europe has forgotten us, announced the day of engagement, but is not bringing us the ring? What is the difference between the Berlin Process ”, the Balkan minishengen and the open Balkans?

There seem to be many questions about a term as "exotic" as "Open Balkans", but most of them a rhetorical question!

The Berlin Process: Following Croatia's EU accession in 2013, when the European Council decided to pause the enlargement process, not to turn to pessimism, to keep alive the prospect of other Balkan countries joining the EU and to keeping Thessaloniki's promise in 2003 that the region's future is in the EU, Germany launched the Berlin Process finalized with the Common Regional Market. The authorship of this process is in Berlin! This and not only this is the reason that even when the (former) German chancellor in Tirana was asked, even when the current chancellor in Berlin was asked the answer was the same: we support the Berlin process!

Has this process achieved results or failed?

The Common Regional Market is supported by the 6 countries of the region, in other words: all. Half of the countries support the Open Balkans. The US also says it supports processes where everyone is involved and treated equally.

Support for the Berlin Process is not just in words. There are 1 billion euros in donations and 10 billion euros in soft loans. The project is supported by Brussels and the USA.

In addition to financial assistance is also the integrative component: Germany, the engine of the EU is interested in the membership of the Union of countries in the region!

Not only do the 6 countries agree on the Common Regional Market, but they have also adopted a 25-point Action Plan. (Sofia Meeting November 10, 2020).

This is the main reason why Kosovo says that we do not need projects that photocopy existing projects.

The Common Regional Market is for the freedom of movement of people, goods, services and capital. The "Open Balkans" "aims" at the same things.

If the authorship of the "Regional Common Market" is Berlin and Brussels and the support comes not only in words but also in funds, the Open Balkans is authored in the region (Rama - Vucic) and the financial support comes from….?

The region needs more Europe. Cooperation and voicing problems with neighbors is a prerequisite for EU membership - but not an alternative to the EU!

The opening of negotiations is the moment of the beginning of the great legal, infrastructural and even cultural transformation! The cost of EU membership is high! Without the support of Brussels we can say beautiful words and unforgettable jokes, but we risk losing our way in the yard!

There is nothing wrong with deepening cooperation between countries in the region, but to claim that you have reached the EUREKA moment with the term Open Balkans is a bit excessive.

Deepening cooperation means that everyone knows and respects each other. Serbia and Bosnia do not recognize Kosovo! Bosnia itself is in existential fever!

Does anyone really think that the Open Balkans will solve the unresolved problems in the region?

To say that Europe is not opening the door to us, now we will Europeanize ourselves is a joke, which can only be done by the jokers of integration!
