While Tirana has been engulfed by violent protests, the Kosovo Business Alliance has sent a letter to President Bajram Begaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama, and the Speaker of Parliament, Niko Peleshi, requesting institutional measures to protect private and public property, order, and security in Albania.
Expressing concern about the tense situation, AKB requests Albanian institutions to "take immediate and proportionate measures to protect citizens, businesses, and private and public property."
The AKB also calls for coordination between responsible institutions, the opening of channels of institutional and political dialogue, as well as the examination of constitutional and legal mechanisms, including the possibility of declaring a state of emergency, if the legal conditions are met.

KOSOVO BUSINESS ALLIANCE – AKB
His Excellency, Mr. Bajram Begaj, President of the Republic of Albania
Subject: Urgent request for institutional measures to protect private and public property, order and security in Albania
Honorable leaders of the institutions of the Republic of Albania,
The Kosovo Business Alliance (KBA), expressing concern about the tense situation and the risk to private and public property, the safety of citizens and the normal functioning of institutions, addresses you with this call for coordinated and responsible institutional action.
The protection of life, the security of citizens, private and public property, and the guarantee of constitutional order are fundamental responsibilities of the state. Any escalation of violence and any damage to property undermines security, the trust of citizens, and the business climate.
In this context, we ask the institutions you lead to:
1. Take immediate and proportionate measures to protect citizens, businesses, and private and public property.
2. Ensure full coordination between institutions responsible for order, security and law enforcement.
3. Open effective channels of institutional and political dialogue to prevent the escalation of the situation.
4. Urgently consider all constitutional and legal mechanisms, including the possibility of declaring a state of emergency, if the legal and constitutional conditions are met.
We believe that in such moments, high state responsibility, political prudence and timely action are needed, in order to prevent any further violation of security and property.
Albania needs order, security, dialogue and functional institutions. Private and public property must be protected, the law must be enforced and citizens must feel safe.
The Kosovo Business Alliance expresses its conviction that the protection of property, the security of citizens, and institutional stability are common interests that must stand above any political differences.
Requesting your attention and urgent institutional action, we express our highest consideration.
Chairman of the Kosovo Business Alliance (AKB)".
