The plan to stop immigrants in England is revealed: Albanian police on the

Priti Patel reveals the plan to curb the number of Albanians at the emigrant crossings.

Albanian police could be brought into the UK to monitor migrant arrivals and pass on intelligence in a bid to tackle Channel crossings.

The plan, part of a deal reached between Home Secretary Priti Patel and the Albanian government, could see officers brought to the Kent coast to be present as migrants are processed and help UK authorities with information, the Home Office said. .

But it has not yet been confirmed when this might come into force.
The move comes amid reports of a growing number of people from the southeastern European country making the journey from France.

Government officials believe that about 60% of the migrants who pass through each day are now Albanians, although the numbers fluctuate, the PA news agency learns.

Ms Patel and Bledi Çuçi, Albania's home affairs minister, also pledged to speed up departures of Albanians without the right to be in the UK from next week when they discussed the situation on Tuesday night.

It is learned that checks for immigrants arriving by boat, who are suspected to be Albanians, will be carried out quickly.

Ads in Albanian on Facebook and Instagram were also launched on Wednesday to discourage people from making the trip.

The campaign will target those in specific regions in northern France and Belgium and "who meet certain criteria, such as leaving home", the Home Office said.

Officials are thought to still be fine-tuning the finer details of the deal, so little further information on how it will work is currently available.

According to the Home Office, Albania is a "safe and prosperous country" and many nationals "are traveling through multiple countries to make the journey to the UK" before making "false asylum claims when they arrive".

Fewer than 1,000 Albanian offenders have been deported from the UK since the deportation deal was signed last year.

Ms Patel said: “Large numbers of Albanians are being sold lies by ruthless people smugglers and vicious organized crime gangs, forcing them to make treacherous journeys on flimsy boats to the UK.

"This abuse of our immigration system and people risking their lives cannot continue."

"Thanks to our excellent levels of cooperation with Albania, we will use every opportunity to accelerate the departure of Albanians without the right to be in the UK."

"I want to thank my counterpart Bledi Çuçi for the work he and his government are doing, we are both steadfast in our commitment to stop this trend.

The Home Office said: "The Albanian government has also provided high-level UK law enforcement support to provide UK authorities with vital intelligence and to support processing."

Mr. Çuçi said: "We discourage these illegal and dangerous practices."
“The Home Secretary and I also discussed medium-term solutions to provide better opportunities for young people and legal migration tools that enable skilled professionals and the workforce to access the UK.
