The Court of Appeal with General Jurisdiction in Tirana has sentenced Agron Tanushi to 28 years in prison. We recall that in September 2020, he killed his sister-in-law Jetmira Hasani, even though the latter had two protection orders.
Jetmira Hasani was killed in front of her 8-year-old daughter and for years she had conflicts at home with her brother-in-law.
Even due to numerous conflicts, the 34-year-old had obtained a protection order, which did not serve to prevent her murder.
After the crime, Agron Tanushi ran away with the murder weapon and a few hours later he was caught in Lushnje at his sister's apartment.
Mother of the victim:
The state will punish him for life, we are afraid. He insulted us in the court, once he killed us... This one was insulting us on the street, now what should we do? Shall we kill him? Dan Hutra came out, killed some, are we going to do the same? I don't ask the state for anything, I kill it. They are events that cannot be otherwise. He is sentenced to 28 years. We said all the things he has done. If I can, I will give him the punishment, but he is better, because he is used to kill.
