The Supreme Court has upheld the sentence of life imprisonment against Fadil Kasemi, convicted for the murder of the judge's wife, Fildez Hafizi.

In the Supreme Court, Kasemi requested the annulment of the decision of the Court of Appeal for Serious Crimes of 2019, with the claim that a lower level is needed, they should have accepted the request for a shortened trial, the type of trial that would save him from life sentence.

During the court proceedings against him at the lower levels, Kasemi took an affirmative stance on the incident, while he claimed that his ex-wife had turned the children against her and that she was not grateful for the investments made against her.

The murder of magistrate Hafizi happened two years after her divorce from her husband and was preceded by previous conflicts between the two, such as the one in 2015, where Kasemi threatened the judge with a gun in a public environment in Golem.
