New details come to light from the serious incident that occurred in Lozhan, Maliqi, where police officer Enea Mekolli lost his life, while his colleague, Edison Adri, was injured.

It is learned that the movements of the much-wanted Violand Braçellari had reached the Police the day before. According to the same sources, the 43-year-old was seen moving freely in the village, and then it is suspected that he had taken refuge in the barn where the clash with the police forces also took place.

While investigations into the incident have begun, there are serious questions about the way the police operation was organized. It is learned that only about 40 officers of the "Eagle" force intervened in the field, despite Braçellari's long criminal history and high level of danger. This fact has raised doubts about the risk assessment and the operational plan followed, especially considering that the wanted man had been able to escape several previous operations.

Braçellari had evaded at least four previous special forces operations, which raises questions about why there was no support from RENEA forces in this intervention.

The focus of criticism is the director of the Korça Police, Vilson Bala, who has been in office for a few months.
