The little girl who lost her life today in the tragedy of the Potami beach in Himare was a relative of the well-known teacher and activist Ilirjana Kuçana. 

This was announced by Kuçana herself through a post on social networks where she wrote that she was deeply affected without being informed that the victim was her blood relative. She vows that this case will not remain unsolved and the entire chain of those responsible will be prosecuted.

"Every parent who has seen the horrible news has been shocked and turned the knife away. Firstly I am deeply shocked and devastated. The girl who died today in the accident in Potam is the daughter of my uncle's son. Secondly as a parent of a child of the same age, I was deeply affected without being informed that in fact the victim was my blood relative. I promise that this case will not remain unsolved and without pursuing the entire chain of those responsible. This horrendous crime has not only one author, the irresponsible one who has been driving the boat. My deepest condolences to my first cousin Bled and his wife for this great loss. May God give them patience! Those parents are truly heroes and today I am praying to God to find the strength to stand up again after this disaster! May God punish these people!,"- writes Kuçana. 

The 7-year-old girl was killed by the speedboat driven by the head of the Community Police Section in Elbasan, Arjan Tase. After the tragedy, he was escorted to the police station of Himara, as he was also dismissed from the ranks of the State Police.
