The joy of winning the May 14 race for a second term did not last more than a month for Safet Gjic.

An intimate video in his office, published on social networks, cost him his job as mayor of Kukes. SPAK immediately opened a criminal investigation, while Gjici announced his resignation through a post on social networks.

Safet Gjici chose to give a lengthy explanation on his Facebook profile, claiming that he had been trapped.

Admitting that he had been in a relationship with the woman in the video for some time, Gjici considered his action a betrayal of the voters and his removal from office was inevitable.

But who filmed it?

The footage lasts 2 minutes and 2 seconds and according to the recording device, it is dated June 6, 2023.

The footage may have been shot by a hidden camera placed on the mayor's second desk, and not on the desk where he has his computer and documents.

From the video, it seems that the images move when the girl approaches the table where the hidden camera is placed, while she, after performing oral sex, looks at the camera's lens, which raises doubts that she is the one who did the filming.

Gjici said that he fell "prey of a trap prepared with details by the same hand of people I faced in the elections" but at the same time he says that "for some time now I have had an intimate relationship with the girl in question".
