Charge d'Affaires Nancy VanHorn met yesterday with the President of the High Prosecutorial Council, Mirela Bogdani, to discuss important events that will take place at the High Prosecutorial Council.

The focus of the discussions has been the race for the new head of SPAK, for which both the US and the EU have called for integrity, transparency, and freedom from external influences.

"The integrity of the process for selecting the SPAK Special Prosecutor is essential to continuing cooperation between the United States and Albania in the fight against international organized crime and to strengthening the security of our countries," the US embassy in Tirana announced.
