The Court of the Durrës Judicial District has imposed a prison sentence for the 26-year-old Arbër Tivari, the young man who remained in a coma after the serious accident that occurred on the Tirana-Durrës highway, where Silva Tom Gjergji and Roxhesa Klironimi died, who were passengers in the car driven by Tivari.

The terrible accident happened in the early hours of the morning of November 27 after the car collided with the protective barriers of the Tirana-Durres highway.

According to the investigations, it is suspected that the cause was the dizzying speed with which the car in which the three young men were traveling was traveling.

The charge against Arbër Tivar is the violation of traffic rules, and as a result, the measure of arrest has been set, despite the fact that the young man is in a coma in the trauma hospital in Tirana, where he was transported after the numerous injuries he received from the accident.

"At the end of the examination, the Court of the Judicial District of Durrës has issued a Decision, where it has decided: 

To accept the request of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Durrës. To assess as legal the arrest in flagrante delicto of the AT citizen suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Violation of traffic rules" provided by Article 290/4 of the Criminal Code. 

To assign the coercive measure "Arrest with prison" to the arrested person, provided by article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Court expenses to be borne by the arrested person. 

Against this decision, an appeal can be made to the Durrës Court of Appeal, within 5 (five) days from the day after the communication of the reasoned decision" - it is stated in the published announcement.

Arbër Tivari is not an unknown name for justice since in March 2021 he was shot in the hand by Alket Buçpapaj who was also known as a problematic person for justice. Tivari was arrested earlier for distribution of narcotics and theft.

While after the search that the police carried out in his apartment after he was injured, Arbër Tivar was found with military ammunition, for which he was placed under the measure of arrest.
