The arrest of the former mayor of Vora, Agim Kajmaku for drug trafficking in Italy, could include Albania in the investigation.

One of the clues that the Albanian police is investigating in cooperation with the Italian one is that the 20 kilograms of cocaine found on the former mayor of Vora in Italy may have left Albania.

Due to the use of the flower business as camouflage and for the transportation of cocaine that the former official has in Albania, the Italian authorities who have had Kajmaku under surveillance request verification of the activity, to reveal the complete network of traffic.

 

Verifications are expected to extend to identifying cases of import and export of flowers made by the company.

The former mayor of Vora was arrested together with his nephew on May 27 in Italy after an anti-drug operation where 20 kg of cocaine were found.

The narcotics were hidden inside plant vases that had been purchased by the company owned by Kajmak. It is suspected that Kajmaku and his nephew, who were the youngest members of the gang, were denounced by the owner of the nursery.
