The Property Commission has decided to damage the sarajevo families of the Toptans by a record 2.5 ml euros, which through an earlier Government decision was declared a protected area.

The figure is about 1 ml more than the preliminary estimate of the value of the property made by the State Property Agency. This agency previously estimated 177 million leks, or about 1.5 million euros.

This assessment was rejected by the heirs, who considered it low compared to the real value of the punishment and the truth around it.

"Sarajet" ended up in the public spotlight after an attempt to burn them in August last year. In a video released at the time by Mayor Erion Iire, a person with a torch was shown in his hand as he rushed near the Cultural Monument. Fortunately, the flames came under control as the ownership debate flared.

There were those who accused the builders of standing behind efforts to burn the monument.

After this decision, the road to the restoration and conversion of historic Sarajevo into a museum is opened. For their restoration and museumization, another considerable one is expected to be made available in another government decision.
