The Director General of State Police, Gledis Nano has held a meeting with the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Christopher Wray.
The meeting took place in Washington, where Nano is on a several-day working visit, where he held other important meetings with senior officials of law enforcement agencies in America.
The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Christopher Wray welcomed to the meeting the Director General of the State Chief Police Gledis Nano.
Police report that FBI Director Christopher Wray commended Nano for his courage and professionalism in running the State Police and confirmed his unwavering support of US law enforcement agencies for the State Police. Nano's visit to Washington strengthened the strong and cooperative relationship between the Albanian State Police and the US government.
It is worth noting that Gledis Nano is the first State Police officer to meet an FBI director. Recently, a meeting with the director of the FBI was attempted by the former Minister of Interior Fatmir Xhafaj and the former General Director of the State Police Gledis Nano, but they failed to hold such an important meeting.
Another fact that is worth mentioning is that Gledis Nano with this meeting returns to the Academy where he trained as an Anti-Terror agent. Gledis Nano has been trained for 10 weeks at the FBI Academy, being praised for her excellent knowledge of the law, scientific knowledge of how it works, very good knowledge of terrorism, very good health and physical ability, and ability to senior leadership.
In addition to meeting with FBI Director Christopher Wray, Nano previously met with Deputy Attorney General Bruce Swartz, Department of Justice's Director of International Affairs, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) , George Papadopoulos, and senior executives from the State Department's Diplomatic Bureau for International Narcotics Safety and Law Enforcement.
The visit to Washington stressed the US-Albania partnership and the importance of fighting corruption and organized crime in Albania, through joint operations, training and close cooperation.
