Gerald Sefa, 36, ended his life the day before, jumping from the fifth floor of a building in the Allias area of Tirana. In connection with the incident, police have arrested Sajmir Demir, the father of the 36-year-old's former partner, who is accused of causing the suicide.
According to the investigation, two days before the incident, Demiri is suspected of having been involved in an argument with the 36-year-old, demanding an account of the separation from his daughter. Sources close to the investigation indicate that the arguments and the alleged continuous pressure on Sefa are one of the main leads being verified regarding the incident.
Initially, the police also investigated the possibility of a possible murder. A knife with blood stains was found in the apartment where the incident took place, which raised suspicions of another scenario. But, according to sources, the expertise has discovered Gerald Sefa's fingerprints on the knife. The investigations suspect that the 36-year-old initially tried to harm himself with a knife and then jumped from the fifth floor.
The apartment where the incident occurred was owned by a relative of Sefa's, who had left it to the 36-year-old to live in. Meanwhile, security cameras have documented Sefa's entry into the building. The footage shows that he entered the building alone, another element that is being analyzed by the investigation team to shed light on the full dynamics of the incident.
