Attempted to smuggle oil into Qafë Thanë, 38-year-old from Elbasan

The Qafë Thana Border Police have arrested a 38-year-old man from Elbasan, who attempted to smuggle diesel fuel from North Macedonia. According to the Police, during the search of the truck's two tanks, a significant amount of fuel was found.

" Following the intensified work of the Border Police services, during the summer season, with the aim of preventing and combating border crimes, at the Qafë Thanë BCP, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania, the truck driven by citizen EQ was moved to the second line for detailed checks. During the check, a considerable amount of fuel was found in the two tanks of the truck. At the end of the procedural actions in this case, the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Korça DVKM arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen EQ, 38 years old, resident of Elbasan, for the criminal offense of "Smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid or with full or partial suspension of customs or excise duties". Also, a quantity of oil was seized as material evidence ", the Police announced.
