The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution has issued a "house arrest" security measure for Vlora Hyseni, director of the State Intelligence Service, who has also been suspended from duty.

Hyseni has often been the target of opposition accusations.

She officially took office in April 2023, becoming the first woman to lead the Albanian intelligence service. Prior to this appointment, she had a long career in national security structures in Kosovo.

After leaving her posts in Kosovo, she served for about two years as national security advisor to the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama.

In March 2023, Rama proposed her as the head of SHISH. She was officially decreed by President Bajram Begaj on April 3, 2023, and was introduced as the head of the institution the next day.
