"Online" pyramid schemes / Court leaves 4 out of 6 arrested in prison,

The First Instance Court of the Fier Judicial District has imposed a 60-day "prison arrest" on 4 of those arrested as part of the police operation codenamed "XUEX" to crack down on online pyramid schemes, and the "Compulsory Appearance" measure on the two waiters Emanuel Taullau and Flavio Mukaj.

Arbër Çela, Emanuel Taullau, Flavio Mukaj, Brunilda Ndini and Brunilda Todi arrived at the courthouse around 8:30 am today, accompanied by two police vans, while their family members were outside.

In the closed-door session, they gave their testimony before Judge Genci Busho and Prosecutor Jonida Allushi.

The accused have said they are victims of the situation. Meanwhile, the mother and aunt of one of the arrested waiters, Emanuel Taullau, have claimed to the media that they did not know that this was wrong.

The 6 defendants face charges of "Online pyramid scheme" and "Computer fraud".
